Claim a need — tell us you will build something on our next list, so we hold back from it
For: an iVendNext Partner who will build, and sell, something our roadmap lists as next (What iVendNext builds). These forms are for onboarded members (who can file); you do not need your company's first word yet. Reference: the roadmap's Claim a need section, and Build your business on iVendNext's apps (../site/pages/business.md).
A claim is how you keep us out of your way: once we accept it, we do not start that need for 90 days, and the roadmap shows it as Claimed, with no name and no date. Every member reads every issue, so other members can see your claim, as they see every form.
When to use it
- A need on the roadmap's next list is one you will build: an app for the App library, or a solution you will deliver to customers in your market.
Use another form, or none, if: the need is being built or listed already (it has started, or it is answered; where it is one of our free kit apps, copy it and make it your customer's own version); the need is on the you build list (it is yours already, no claim needed); you need a door that does not exist to build it → extension-point request.
The form
# Claim a need: <the need, as the roadmap's next list names it>
Company: <your company's name, as you registered it with the iVendNext Partner programme>
## 1. What you will build
<The app or the solution, who uses it, and how a shop will get it: listed in the App library for every shop, or delivered customer by customer.>
## 2. Your market
<The countries or the region you will sell it in.>
## 3. Where you are with it (optional)
<A design, a first version on your sandbox, a customer waiting for it.>
What we may ask you next, in the issue
How far along you are, if you left section 3 empty · the doors your build uses · whether you will list it in the App library.
What happens after you send it
- It is given an id, which comes back to you in the issue.
- It is answered in the issue with one of: accepted (the roadmap shows the need as Claimed), needs more or declined (with the reason, for example that the need is being built already).
- An accepted claim holds 90 days from the day you filed it. Within them we do not start that need.
- When your app is listed in the App library, partner first applies for as long as it answers the need: we build no free app against it, and we feature yours. A claim that ends without a listed app ends there: the need is no longer shown as Claimed, and we may start it.
